How to measure a stump

One of the most important steps in stump grinding is properly pricing the stump, and to do this it must be measured correctly. Measure the stump at the widest point where the root flare hits the ground and NOT where the tree was cut off.(Refer to image below) Take the number of inches at the widest point and multiply by 4, and this will give you an estimate of the cost of the stump.

Stump Grinding Equipment

We utilize a J.P. Carlton SP4012 self propelled stump grinder. By doing so, this stump grinder is able to fit through a 36 inch gate allowing access to back yards where larger machines can’t reach. Furthermore, it uses a 37hp kohler engine allowing us to grind quickly and efficiently. Also, the machine runs on air filled tiresand does not tear up lawns like a track machine will.

We have been in business for over 10 years and proudly serve the entire Grand Strand Area from Pawleys Island to Calabash to Anyor. Additionally, for very large jobs, we will travel farther distances.

Fully licensed and insured to work in South Carolina. (Business License and Certificate of insurance is available upon request.)

To do this call 811 (the national call before you dig hotline) and speaking with an operator and giving them your information. They then have 3 business day to have the area marked. By doing this before getting an estimate can save you time and money.
